This is a powerful tool box for success, It highlighted all the processes and steps to recruitment and will be up to me to use the tools accordingly. It is not prescriptive, it allows for diversity/styles etc irrespective of peoples personal approach – we can all be successful. I have been working within the Rubicor Group for 5 months. I work for one of their operating companies, specialising in recruiting for Office Support professionals. I hold the position of Team Leader / Senior Consultant and part of my responsibility is to assist in mentoring and leading new starters. I really enjoy this aspect of my role as I have been doing recruitment for 10 years and feel I have a lot of knowledge and experience that I can share with them, assisting them with their move into the recruitment industry. I joined in 2005 as a Senior Consultant and I became Research Manager in 2007 to set up that function. I returned to Consulting 18 months later and joined our specialist FMCG team.
I came into recruitment because I enjoyed building relationships and I get particular satisfaction from learning about different businesses, their complexities and challenges and finding solutions for them in the people I place. Equally I enjoy learning about candidates and their backgrounds and finding the roles and environments that will take them through the next stage of their career. Ultimately though, the meshing of the two and achieving the result is what drives me.

I have just last week celebrated my 20th year with Wizard People. There have been many changes along the way of 20 years, not the least that Rubicor acquired the Wizard business in 2007 and I was able to take a step back from being an owner/manager to doing what I like best, that is being a recruiter! However there would not be many acquisition companies who would allow you to do this. The Rubicor model has this flexibility and has allowed me to concentrate on my clients, to get back into hands on recruitment and to expand the business through these channels. I still love what I do, 20 years on, and encourage others to make the commitment to being a ‘top recruiter’, it is a very satisfying and rewarding role and you make many friends along the way. My friends become my clients and my clients become my friends, makes business very rewarding.
