APS 5 Secretariat/Governance Officer
  • 3 month initial contract with possibility of extension
  • Mandatory current Baseline Security Clearance

Our Government client is seeking an experienced APS 5 Secretariat/Governance Officer to assist with the provision of support  to Steering Committees, and advice to the executive on governance arrangements. 
 
The line area has governance oversight of three steering committees involved in the delivery of the major government program.  Responsibilities include: minute taking, preparation of agenda, provision of advice and support, issues management, best practice governance arrangements, drafting correspondence including presentations to departmental committees.
 
This role would suit candidates who are willing to exercise their initiative and judgement and work under limited direction, and who are highly motivated individuals with excellent writing skills.
 
Key responsibilities:
  • Assist with the collation and dissemination of meeting papers
  • Minute taking
  • Preparation of correspondence including presentations, briefs & minutes
  • Assisting with the maintenance of the risk register, risk summary reports
  • Assist with program assurance including monitoring and evaluating framework
  • Establishing and maintaining good relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Preparation of timely and accurate information and advice
  • Adhering to current legislation, policies, procedures and work guides for effective operation
Your background:
  • You must be an Australian Citizen to be eligible to apply
  • Must hold current baseline security clearance
  • 2 years minimum experience in a similar role
  • Strong communication and writing skills
  • Ability to be diplomatic and work through sensitive issues
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Ability to prioritise work load effectively
  • High level of interpersonal skills and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated capacity to provide leadership and autonomy
