APS 5/6 Governance Officer
  • 2 month initial contract with possibility of extension
  • Mandatory current Baseline Security Clearance
  • Must have previous experience in a similar role
Our Government client is seeking an experienced APS 5/6 Governance Officer to join their team to assist with the provision of advice and support to the Minister and the executive on governance arrangements. 
The line area has governance oversight of portfolio bodies and statutory office holders, and monitors the governance arrangements and accountabilities.  Responsibilities include: provision of advice and support, issues management, best practice governance arrangements, facilitating statutory appointments and preparing responses to governance issues raised by stakeholders.

This role would suit candidates who are willing to exercise their initiative and judgement and work under limited direction, and who are highly motivated individuals.
Key responsibilities:
  • Undertaking research and routine analysis
  • Establishing and maintaining good relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Preparation of timely and accurate information and advice
  • Adhering to current legislation, policies, procedures and work guides for effective operation
  • Assisting with key functions including coordination requests
Your background:
  • You must be an Australian Citizen to be eligible to apply
  • Must hold current baseline security clearance
  • 2 years minimum experience in a similar role
  • Strong communication and writing skills
  • Ability to be diplomatic and work through sensitive issues
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Ability to prioritise workload effectively
  • High level of interpersonal skills and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated capacity to provide leadership and autonomy
