APS 5/6 Policy Officer
 
 
  • Initial 6 month contract
  • Previous Policy or Contract Management experience - Essential
  • Baseline Security Clearance - Essential
Our Government client is seeking an experienced APS 5/6 Policy Officer to assist with the establishment of a Public Private Partnership.
 
The ideal candidate should have the following attributes:
  • Excellent report writing skills summarising complex technical information
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills
  • Exceptional level of attention to detail
  • Well-developed business acumen to deliver timely results and advice
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Ability to prioritise work load effectively
  • Experience or aptitude for working in teams to demanding deadlines
  • A high level of personal motivation and a strong commitment to learning and improvement
  • High level of interpersonal skills and written communication skills
  • Experience in report writing, and preparation of ministerial correspondence
  • Ability to adapt to change demonstrating high resilience to changing circumstances and working environments
Key responsibilities:
  • Interpreting, drafting and reviewing policy guidelines
  • Establish an evidence base to inform decision making
  • Conducting research and analysing activities for new policies and contributing to the planning and implementation of new policies
  • Coordinating a range of complex information
  • Preparation of written reports, briefings and correspondence
  • Manage and maintain the department’s client and stakeholder relationships
Your background:
  • Australian Citizenship – Essential
  • Baseline security clearance - Essential
  • Previous demonstrated experience in a similar role – essential
  • Demonstrated experience in stakeholder management and negotiation
  • High attention to detail ensuring the quality work being produced is at a high level
  • Strong written and oral communication skills required
  • A high level of analytical and research skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to engage and negotiate with clients and stakeholders at all levels
