Job Description

On behalf of our client, an Australian nickel mining company with projects in Solomon Islands and close bonds and commercial arrangements with indigenous communities, Rubicor Technical are seeking an individual who specialises in integrating businesses through merger or acquisition.
Reporting to the CEO this role will be working closely with senior executives of the companies involved. You will have successfully project managed prior mergers, you will be accountable for analysis, reporting findings and solutions to the senior executives and providing accurate and timely  information of the implementation progress of the agreed strategy for merging  and assisting in expanding the business operations in the Pacific region.
To succeed in this role you will:
  • Demonstrate ability to design and work within a JV agreement and execute the subsequent integration of organisations impacted into a single broader business operation.
  • Recommend and implement key project details, including assessing scope, setting deadlines, assigning responsibilities, risk management and closely monitor progress ensuring alignment with goals
  • Demonstrate ability to evaluate project cost/benefit analysis, lead project planning sessions, review project expenditures and ensure budgetary goals are met.
  • Coordinate staff and internal resources while ensuring their optimal allocation
  • Coordinate communication with project team and all project stakeholders, providing regular updates and discussions with key stakeholder groups.
  • Conduct project review, creating detailed reports for executive staff and presenting action plans
About you:
  • 5 to 10 years merger and acquisition experience in investment baking with independent corporate advisory firms or part of big 4 Corporate Development teams
  • Mining industry and developing nation government negotiations experience an advantage
  • Have a collaborative and mature communication style
  • Have an understanding and respect for different cultures both geographic and corporate cultures.
  • Able see big picture and remain focused on deliverables.
This role will be based in Brisbane with international travel as required. Expected timeframe of the project is 12 – 18 months. A competitive salary is on offer.
