We are seeking an experienced estimator with excellent administration skills for a local engineering firm that services the mining industry in the Mackay and Bowen basin. Type of work is estimating costs, job planning to carry out repairs to mining equipment but is not limited to this aspect.

 

  • Monday to Friday
  • Base: 38 Hour week
  • Casual to Permanent position

 

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA
- Estimator - engineering / mining industry
- 2 years industrial experience

- Administration:

  • Reporting and estimating skills
  • Electronic file management
  • Creating quotes, purchase orders
  • Establishing management recording system for parts inventory

- Planning and scheduling expertise:

  • Quantify labour and material costs
  • Order and supervise timely supply of materials
  • Time and project management within time and budget constraints
  • Problem solving and conflict resolution skills
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines

- Technology proficient

  • Microsoft Office – Intermediate to advanced
  • Data file management using hyperlinked access
  • Interoperate mechanical drawings

- Customer service and business development acumen

  • Effective communication skills – verbal and written
  • Develop business through exceptional delivery of service and work quality
  • Proactive attention to detail ensuring correctness of work undertaken
  • Leadership and staff management skills


- Construction white card
- Drivers license
- Willing to obtain and pass pre-employment medical and a drug and alcohol screen

DESIRED CRITERIA
- Knowledge in engineering maintenance and coal mine industry

-  Fitter/Machinist/Boilermaker knowledge / experience

- Past stable work history in similar role

- Flexibility to work additional hours

- Experience with iTMS software
