Geotechnical Civil Engineer

Rubicor Technical are seeking, on behalf of our client, an experienced geotechnical civil engineer. Our client is undertaking a major expansion project. The fundamental role of the engineer will be to scope and control project works with a focus on construction and geotechnical (foundations, ground support, drainage, etc). Ideally you will have experience with major plant projects.
Key duties of the role to include:
  • Maintain plant infrastructure, roads and civil facilities to a standard of maximum efficiency.
  • Plan and coordinate civil maintenance works including raising and closing work orders, identify scopes of works, timelines etc and provide engineering, design and technical advice where required.
  • Consultation with consultants and in-house stakeholders, develop proposals, feasibility studies, scopes of work, cost estimates, construction plans and drawings for plant modifications and new projects.
  • Develop tender documentation and manage the tendering process for new civil project works as required.
  • Site supervise project works with emphasis on safety, compliance to site procedures, quality and accuracy of work.
  • Provide regular reports to Management in respect of site activities, job progress, cost variances and issues.
  • Coordinate with government departments to obtain permits for new works and comply with reporting requirements.
About you:
  • High level of technical knowledge.
  • Tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering.
  • Able to interpret civil drawings
  • Strong IT skills and exposure to CMMS (JDE) and document control
  • Ability to manage small teams in project work
  • Ability to manage numerous projects
  • Ability to investigate major plant failures and their causes
