Highly respected and recognised both locally and internationally with iconic wine brands such as The Ned, Leefield Station and The Kings series, Marisco Vineyards is looking to drive growth across several key export markets as well as domestically. The owners have placed significant investment into the brand and company and have now created a new role of Group Finance Manager to oversee the financial delivery and report on the group’s activities.

The role, based at their stunning Blenheim winery, will be responsible for the leadership and development of all aspects of the finance function and play a key part in the ongoing growth and success of the group, working alongside the leadership team and using existing commercial and financial skills to leverage current and future opportunities. Managing a small finance team you will be responsible for delivering on the Financial Statutory Reporting as well as Budgeting and Forecasting. Reporting into the Finance Director and managing a small team, the delivery will be within several legal entities and work on enhancement and development of various financial tools that will be utilised within the business.
This pivotal role will suit an ‘up and coming’ finance leader who has a genuine interest in allowing the position to develop into a more senior role down the line. The candidate will be a good coach and mentor for the team and work coherently with the management team to deliver on new financial ideas and approaches, bringing innovation and adding value.

Ideally, the candidate will be a Qualified Accountant who has a keen and genuine interest in developing their career to the next level in a company like Marisco. As part of the monthly delivery in Finance and Management reporting, the candidate will have NZ Tax experience as well as management of audit processes with an external provider.

Minimum 8 – 10 years relevant experience, with at least some of this gained within organisations in high growth mode. Good project management skills essential, particularly as the group grows and diversifies. An individual who is comfortable communicating with the broader business and be involved in strategy decision making.
