Job Description

We have an exciting opportunity available for a  Investment Analyst/Technical Assistant within a highly regarded Financial Services organisation in Perth.

The position of Investment Analyst primarily involves working directly with the Investment Committee to evaluate the investment approach and methodology aiming to ensure their clients continue to have the highest probability of reaching their objectives. This is achieved through active involvement in market research, portfolio construction and funds management.

The position of Technical Assistant primarily involves the review of the clients' financial strategy in line with their goals and objectives, assisting Project Leaders and Advisers in delivery client centric advice and meeting documentation, sourcing accurate data and maintaining records whilst also working cohesively with the broader team to ensure that client deliverables are always met.

Responsibilities of this role include;

  • Assist in the preparation of Statements of Advice
  • Prepare reports and ad-hoc analysis for Client progress meetings
  • Create Educational material and communications that can be distributed to clients, advisers and the public
  • Portfolio maintenance and construction
  • Assist with Cash-flow forecasting and financial modelling
  • Actively engage in managing projects as required
  • Research and analytical support to Project Leaders and Advisory Teams
  • Participation in team meetings and presentations
  • Consistent communication with internal members of the organisation as well as external stakeholder and clients
  • Management of client portfolios
  • Coordinate the Investment Committee meetings, minutes, action items etc
The suitable candidate will possess;
  • 1-2 years experience within a Financial Services Industry role or similar
  • An interest in investing, funds management and portfolio building
  • Completion or progress towards completion of Diploma of Financial Planning, Adv Dip or CFP
  • Strong experience in managing to deadline and communicating to a team
  • Knowledge of investment platforms, transactions and fee structures
  • Knowledge of legislative and compliance requirements
  • Knowledge of company structures, Superannuation, SMSF's, Pensions
  • Superior communication skills, strong written and presentation skills
  • Natural ability to self motivate and work as part of a cohesive team
  • Attention to detail, accuracy and ability to be discreet with information
  • Demonstrate a commitment to high quality of work and a proactive and analytical approach to problem solving
