Production Superintendent

Location: Australia - QLD
Job Type: Permanent

As you've probably read in the industry press, the coal industry is far from it's last legs. With more tonnage shipped than in living memory from the main ports here in Qld, the market is certainly buoyant.
Having gone through the lean years, which to be frank was needed, the industry as a whole is now moving through a period of sustained growth.

Due to this growth and to keep the company on a sustained path to success we are now seeking the expertise of a highly experienced Production Superintendent for a historic operating mine in the Coalfields here in Queensland.
This position would suit a supervisor / superintendent who has the ability to quickly step into an Operations Manager role and ensure the continued high levels of operational excellence that the site has achieved over recent years.

This role isn't for individuals that want to cruise in their roles. If you want that life then I know there are sailing operators in Cairns that would love to hear from you. This is for an applicant that wants to own the outcomes of the site, taking your boots off at the end of the day knowing that you have given your best for your team.

Along with your excellent stakeholder relationship skills, where you have been a key influencer across the sites you have been responsible for you, will also need to demonstrate the following:

EXPERIENCE
  • Extensive experience in open cut mining operations
  • Proven record of commitment to production and safety
  • Extensive experience in project management and civil work
  • Experience in Contractor Management Systems
  • Strong management and leadership experience
As you would expect of this position you will also need to hold the following licenses and tickets to be able to operate at this level,

ESSENTIAL:
Certificate of competency as a Mining Supervisor.

DESIRABLE
  • OCE Ticket
  • Tertiary Qualification in a mining related discipline
  • Certificate IV or Diploma in Frontline Management
  • RIIRIS402A Carry out the risk management processes (previously MNCG1002A)
Being either a DiDO or Residential position in Emerald Queensland you will be part of a highly engaged workforce that not only strive for the best results for the company but also for each other, working in a One Team approach.

In return the salary is at the level you would expect at this level , Circa $200k+ all the other usual corporate benefits, which can be detailed upon application.

People with relevant work rights in Australia will be considered for the role due to the current Federal Government restrictions on visa's. Don't blame me, email Peter Dutton instead.
