Job Description

On behalf of Sydney trains Rubicor technical are recruiting for an experienced Project Manager to work across the Sydney Metro program.
This role is accountable for delivery and management of Program Delivery projects within the Sydney Trains Sydney Metro program of work within clearly defined scope, quality, time and cost constraints
The role will support for North Shore line upgrade for signalling for 20 trains per hour and associated ATRICS/ TLS works and provide support for Northern Corridor Works for City & South West and associated ATRICS/ TLS works.
Key Accountabilities:
  • Manage implementation of Sydney Metro Program Delivery project plan to meet scope, time, cost, quality and safety requirements with a focus on signal and associated works delivery.
  • Refine and Implement project schedule and activities throughout the project lifecycle
  • Deploy standard project management systems, procedures and tools.
  • Deliver specified outcomes for stakeholders in terms of safety, scope, quality, standards, budget, ,timeframes and customer expectations
  • Certify, on a regular basis, regulatory and organisational standards to facilitate compliance for all work
  • Monitor to ensure stakeholders sign off the scope and handover documentation, is completed at the end of the project
  • Prepare and implement monthly reporting for Program Delivery works Projects
  • Ensure databases/trackers are kept updated in order to provide timely and accurate financial reporting, and to facilitate project completion reports as part of project finalisation
  • Facilitate and implement Program Delivery office projects specific communication strategy/plan
  • Manage Program Delivery Office projects stakeholders (internal and external) providing high level advice and assistance and ensure client expectations and strong working relationships are met.
  • Contribute to procurement requirements, tender assessments and evaluation, manage the administration of the contract, approved proposed variations and manage resolution of contractual disputes.
  • Determine project risks and develop a project risk management plan (RMP), facilitate risk review process and manage, monitor and mitigate project risks through the RMP.
Selection criteria:
  • Technical qualification (or equivalent) and minimum 10 years’ experience and demonstrated ability in delivering projects on time and on budget within Rail, Transport or Infrastructure sectors. Experience focus with interface management, construction and commissioning staging works in live railway environment.
  • Demonstrated high level complex project management skills in managing programs of multiple interdependent projects within a matrix organisation.
  • Demonstrated experience in the development and application of project management tools and contract administration and negotiation procedures incorporating:

    • Cost management
    • Quality Management
    • HR Management
    • Communications Management
    • Risk Management
    • Procurement Management
  • Demonstrated experience in managing performance to achieve organisation objectives.
  • Demonstrated high level relationship management, communication, presentation, negotiation and conflict resolution skills and experience with demonstrated success at building relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to work under pressure, be proactive and apply strategic thinking and problem solving skills to manage unexpected issues and events.
