We have a position for an experienced purchasing officer who has an understanding of engineering workshop operations. Along with great time management skills you will have market awareness to competitively acquire supplies and materials.  Whilst being a great negotiator and communicator is a key component to the position, you also need to maintain costs within budget constraints and manage stock control. The ideal person would possess mechanical fitting knowledge.
  • Mackay based workshop
  • Monday to Friday
  • Good remuneration
ESSENTIAL CRITERIA
- Good computer literacy skills
- 3 years in a similar role
- Negotiate and manage supplier pricing and rebates
- Stock range and availability to meet demands
- Facilitating cyclic stocktakes
- Manage spending against set budget
- Track supplies and backorders
- Internal sales as required
- Reliability and good work ethic
- Drivers license
- Willing to obtain and pass pre-employment medical and a drug and alcohol screen

- Forklift licence

- Previous experience in an engineering workshop
