Senior Trainer - Asset Protection Operations

Rubicor Technical Ltd, on behalf of our client Barrick (Niugini) Limited (BNL), are seeking an experienced Asset Protection Senior Trainer with responsibility for the supervision and efficient, effective implementation of all training and localisation program as it relates to security personnel at the Porgera Operations.
 
The company:
BNL is a company incorporated in Papua New Guinea, and operates the Porgera Gold Mine in Enga Province on behalf of the Porgera Joint Venture (PJV) partners. BNL is an independently managed company and is jointly owned through an equal partnership between Barrick Gold and Zijin Mining Group.
 
Key Accountabilities:
  • Responsible for the supervision and efficient, effective implementation of the training and localisation program as it relates to Security personnel.
  • Have ownership of all auditing and reporting functions involving weapons and munitions.
  • Have Tactical Command for all Bullion and Cash Shipments on site.
  • Manage daily deployments, operations and training activities of the Asset Protection Team.
  • Present lessons to National staff as per the formalised lesson plans.
  • Assess National staff on performance relative to lessons delivered.
  • Provide assessments of training staff and all other staff to the Asset Protection Operations Surface Superintendent.
  • Assist in the investigation of complaints.
  • Perform administrative tasks in relation to rostering, report writing and maintaining training records.
  • Apply and monitor the systems and processes for security of the product.
  • Assist the Management with implementation of change management initiatives and other business improvement projects.
 
About you:
  • Senior Police or Military service background
  • Significant asset protection experience in Police or Military.
  • Extensive experience in leading and coordinating teams of security operators.
  • Extensive experience in emergency and incident response, incident investigation and liaison with authorities in relation to criminal proceedings.
  • Experience in managing the use of electronic surveillance systems.
  • Knowledge of criminal law in PNG.
  • Demonstrated success as an effective leader.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead a team safely and improve team safety awareness.
  • Experience in training and assessment
  • Strong IT skills.
  • Physically fit.
 
This role will be on a FIFO roster of 16 days on / 12 days off with a charter out of Cairns. Work location will be the Porgera Mine Site, PNG. On site all accommodation and food will be provided.
 
An on-travel allowance will be provided to candidates who reside outside of Cairns, Australia.
Relocation assistance is provided should you wish to move to Cairns (provided you have the right to reside in Australia).
 
FIFO from international locations will be considered.
 
In addition to good base annual salary and international savings plan you will receive:

For PNG Visa purposes you will to undertake immigration and pre-employment medical screening and will need to obtain a National Police Clearance.
 
The offer for this role is conditional upon the candidate successfully obtaining and retaining a visa that allows you to work in Papua New Guinea.
